Children's Stories By J.C. Ryle
Looked up to and loved by children in his congregation, J.C. Ryle took their spiritual lives very seriously. Here is a collection of stories for children by this great communicator including 'The two bears'. J.C. Ryle encourages us to teach the whole Scripture to children and not just parts of it. Children will enjoy reading these stories but this is also an interesting and intriguing book for any involved with children at home or church.

I am a big fan of J. C. Ryle. His writings are very "meaty" and nourishing but also very deep and weighty. I wondered how he could bring doctrine of that magnitude to a child's level. I read chapter 2, "Children Walking in Truth" online, and could not wait to read this to my grandchildren ages 4 and 6. I wasn't sure they would really be into it so much but I started reading it to them as their bedtime stories. To my surprise they not only asked me to read more night after night but they remembered what we read! They love these stories (which are actually his sermons to children in the 1800's) and are "getting"it. If you are looking for a simple read for children to help them understand about sin and righteousness and how to walk rightly before God this is a must have! Jeannie
